Family

Hi,

Received this in an email today thought you might like it!

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking theevening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.

'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'

I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'

I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Photos & Memories

Hi,

As my previous blog regarding old photos I had from my dads flat after he passed away, I have been busy putting old and new photos together and below is what I came up with 6 generations of my family.

I have had to resize it for my blog but thought I would share some of the photos with you as I thought it would be nice seeing old and new together, I have enjoyed doing this as it has made me smile all day! It shows my Great Grandmother, Grandma, Grandad, Mum, Dad, Uncle, Brother and Sister, Myself, my Sons and my Grandaughter all here on one page.

The big pic in the middle is me as a baby with my mum and dad, awww lol.

I am going to do a scrapbook of all the family from childhood to adult with nephews and nieces and their children, I think it will take a while but very enjoyable.

Anyway must dash and thankyou to all who have left me comments on my blogs it is much appreciated.

Hugs

Memories

Hi,

Shed a few tears today of sadness and happiness!

I lost my Mum six years ago and my Dad passed away last June,

When we emptied his flat there was a few photo’s but found it hard to go through them until now.

Today I sat and went through them and scanned them onto my pc and emailed them to my sister and brother, I hope they get as much enjoyment out of them as I did.

It is nice to have memories I found one of my Uncles wedding and I was a bridesmaid the photo had my Mum, Dad, Grandma, Granddad, Great Grandma, Uncle, Brother, Sister and myself that was a really nice one to find.

My Niece is making a scrapbook for my Sisters 50th birthday in November so the photos came in really handy and she was really pleased with them.

Notice I have not mentioned THE diet lol that’s because I still havn’t started it, I know I should but I still have to get myself into the right frame of mind, I’m sure I will get there eventually.

Anyway time to love you and leave you  its time for bed.

Hugs

Community Photo Challenge - Winter Blues

This is my first attempt at the photo challenge so here goes, this was taken a couple of years ago it is the big lake at Castle Howard in York, North Yorkshire. It was completely iced over and covered in snow. I think the poor black swan had the winter blues.

Here we are again

Hiya

Not a good start to the day it is foggy snowing and -4 brrr too cold, not planning to go anywhere today and it will be just a quick walk with Taz I think.

Still havn't started diet but have read some good blogs on here regarding dieting, wish I could take a leaf out of their books lol. Talking of books I need to find my weight watchers books maybe that would inspire me anything is worth a try I suppose.

Feel a bit down today had a bit of a tiff with John nothing too serious but it's very rare we argue, and the weather doesn't help.

I think it is coffee time and put some washing in so back later.

Happy Valentines Day

I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I thought I would do my blog lol.

It's valentines day all the flowers and chocolates will have gone up in price it is always the same Valentines day and Mothers day the prices just go daft, I do not buy them on these days on principle I can buy flowers and things all the year round and don't have to pay silly money to tell family and friends how much they mean to me. My hubby tells me he loves me all year round he doesn't have to wait until Valentines day to say it!

Still havn't started diet but trying to get myself in the right frame of mind, might go shopping today and start buying healthy food! lets see how it goes from there but I will need to start as I don't want my health to suffer which I think it will do as diabetes and heart disease runs in the family, better start thinking healthy eating. I will dig out all the weight watchers books again and follow a good diet and I know it works as I have done it before but put it all back on.

It's very still outside I wonder if we are going to have a nice sunny day again like yesterday, can only hope. It's now & 7:00 am and it is still dark I am going to jump in the shower and get dressed or I will be sat in my dressing gown all morning and I need to get tidied up and take Taz for walk.

Back soon

Another Day

Well another day and the sun has just come out but still chilly with a nip in the air and frosty first thing but at least it's not raining.

Still not started diet yet but trying to finish what is in the freezer so we can defrost it (well thats my excuse anyway). Going to have burgers for lunch and pizza for tea not very healthy today but when its gone then I can fill the freezer up with healthy stuff lol.

hopefully I will get motivated to start diet next week I will buy some fresh fruit and veg to keep me going.

I will keep updating and one of these days I will be posting my weight loss as I did before!!!

Anyway must dash things to do, take care and have a good day.

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful day sun has been shining all day and is going down now had the windows open all day, unfortunatly couldn't go out as had to wait in for the police coming to take a statement from John as he was a witness to a crash between a car and an ambulance luckily no one was injured badly and no one in the back of the ambulance. Then Jonathan (stepson) and Adele his grilfriend came for Dinner and to watch the football we are watching 2 matches.

Had a big dinner roast pork yorkshire puddings  roast potatoes mash potatoes roast parsnips carrots and swede not very good for diet I know but very nice. It is nice to see then but its nice when they go home so we can have some peace and quiet after them shouting at the telly cos of the football. Only 45 mins to go now and the football has finished then peace and quiet.
